Dear Gareth,

I thought I should drop you a line to express my thanks to you, and in particular to Darren, for the excellent job you did for us in the recent Lynch sale.

I was greatly impressed with the response to the initial mail out letter, which produced some 600 people through the door within the first two hours and the 1000 over the opening day.

Darren was a ‘real trouper.’ He is obviously well versed at integrating himself within a relatively unknown company, building up a level of enthusiasm whilst at the same time standing back and allowing the owners to direct the business. He was a pleasure to have here.

I am glad I took your advice on concentrating on our best sellers and not being distracted by other goods that are outside our normal portfolio. It was surprising that even at half price, some of the bad buys are still with us, and I think this goes to prove a point.

That aside, we exceeded our target and have been more than pleased with the outcome.
