Dear Jud,

Caledonian is a unique institution. We have been dealers in fine quality English antiques and importing the finest in reproduction furniture for the past 67 years. When it came time to close down our retail operation, I was not at all sure that the Lynch Sales Company, or anyone else, would be able to step in and do a better job than we could do ourselves. After speaking with Dick Dickason and really getting into the numbers, required advertising and just plain determination needed to run such a sale; I made the decision to go with your company.

David Penfield was assigned to manage our Sale. From the very beginning, I felt that David was operating with our best interests in mind. He was forever thinking about how best to merchandise our unique products, and get as many potential buyers through our doors as possible. He was extremely efficient in accomplishing those goals and was able to devise an advertising plan that came in well under budget.

The first day of our Sale was absolutely amazing with over 950 people through our door and sales amounting to 40% of our total projected goal! I think at that time I might have relaxed and not done what was definitely required to maximize the total sale. David started in the very next day analyzing what had gone right and where we could improve. He quickly realized that the Caledonian customer was different from the average furniture buyer and he adjusted the marketing accordingly.

I would also like to add that everyone in the Lynch organization with whom I have dealt has been pleasant, professional and a pleasure to work with.
