The projections for the sale were exceeded on all levels. We ended up about 15% above the projected sales amount, 3% above the gross margin and almost 2% under the advertising budget. Needless to say we were very pleased with the numbers and the cash flow it created for us while we are remodelling.

Our other concern was whether we could actually sell patio furniture in January... On the first day of the sale, on one of the coldest days of the year, there were over 80 people lined up at the door. Over 700 people went through the store that first day. That would have been amazing in July, but this was January!
